The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson in the year of 1776. It was signed on the date of July 4th, 1776. This document was written under great circumstances. The main reasons that this was written was because the men and women of the colonies were upset with King George the third. King George the third was trying to rob the colonist of their three greatest possessions in the New England. Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness for themselves in the New World. This "social contract" was written to maintain order in the colonies, and to state that all men were and are created equal. It also initialed that "mankind requi

This meaning that the new colonies should claim their rights that are theirs makes their own laws and make there own government. One of the major ideas that Jefferson address in the declaration is that all men is created equal. res that they should declare the causes which impel them to the situation". "He has refused his assent to laws, the most wholesome and necessary for the public good. (this statement meaning that every time that the colonies tried to put some kind of house of representatives together that King found out about, he would shut them down. Five big misdeeds that the King made were as follows:1. The Declaration of Independence also stated that the present relationship of King George the 3rd should become history because of all the misdeeds that he had handed upon them. In this document Jefferson offers many rights to the new Americans. "He was endeavored to prevent the population of these states; for that purpose obstructing the laws for naturalization of foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their migration hither, and raising the conditions of new appropriations. He also added that it is the right for the colonists to abolish the rule and power that England had over them and institute and newly formed government on their standards. The colonist wanted to separate from England because they wanted rights.
