What a Rush
The movie starts off in Alaska with a shot of atrail expanding beyond a vast amount of snow. Thisshows the ruffness of these adventurers. Then itcuts to show the Little Fellow(Charlie Chaplin)walking casually along, and being followed by abear. Big Jim is then shown to set his setting. He just found some gold. Both come together in theshack of Black Larsen. They spend a couple ofnights in the shack through a horrible storm. Later Big Jim loses his memory thanks to a blowfrom Black Larsen. Big Jim finds the little fellow
The wind to make the tramp seem like he was on atreadmill, which is physically impossible but addsto the humor. The technical portion of the movie was alsointeresting. The cabin was very dreary, the party wasvery joyful. Charlie Chaplin used sound to dramatize theaudience to pity the tramp, from the cabin to theparty. This movie used what is known as mat. Big Jimlives for adventure, excitement, gold, pain,suffering, and looks forward to the life of luxury. Gorgia is very shallow and is just having a bit offun with the little fellow. The Characters in the movie, the Gold Rush,were very well casted. The theme on this movie, I feel was hard tojudge being it a comedy, but I feel that it is this"Perseverance and hard work bring women and gold". The tipping cabin, thetramp almost falls to his death. The tramp(Charlie Chaplin)is a clever fellow that is head over heels forGorgia. The coldwinter storm was lighted to show the solitude ofthe cabin. The go on a cruise and hefinds Gorgia. After a humorous scene in the cabin onthe ledge they find the gold and becomemulti-millionaires.
