Yankee Stadium

As people walk down the crowded streets in the Bronx, they begin to feel a rush. People will notice the ticket scalpers start to appear out of nowhere and there is a roar amongst the people. All of a sudden it appears just a few blocks down and it is the historic Yankee Stadium. People there cannot help be feel excited and hardly have the patients to wait for their seats. When fans get inside the stadium and walk past the gates, they can look inside a take a view of the outfield. Finally, the fans get to there section and sit down. There it is; a full view of the house that Ruth built. As soon as the people sit down, they can smell the freshly cut green grass all the way from their seat. Fans hear the crack of the bat as Jason Giambi cranks a homerun over the short porch in right. The bleacher creatures chant the names of all the Yankee players until they are acknowledged for their efforts. And Andy Pettitte gives his cold stare down to the batter as he receives the sign for Jorge Posada. If you are a baseball fan, there is no better feeling in the world than when you go to Yankee Stadium. Forget Cooperstown, This is the real baseball hall of fame. With 26 world championships, they are easily the greatest team in

The Yankees feel the need for a spiritual secession between themselves and the lord for guidance during the game. Another feature of Yankee Stadium is its Monument Park, a museum of sorts, to the players that carved out the Yankee tradition. A person has never seen a baseball field quite like this one with such hardcore-fanatic fans, and while sitting in the stadium a person can feel like they have always belonged to the legend of the Yankees. Yankee Stadium is a cultural landmark with a history like no other ballpark. Gehrig died in 1941, at the age of 37. When the team realized that they were drawing much more crowds, Yankee owners resolved to build their own stadium. New great players like Jeter, Williams, Giambi, Soriano, and Rivera now take the field. Before their own stadium was built, the Yankees shared a stadium with the Giants. They encourage the players before the game and comfort them afterwards. Gehrig's nickname is the "Iron Horse," which came about with Gehrig's amazing consecutive games played streak. During that game, Babe Ruth officially christened the stadium with a three-run homer. Gehrig played in the same era with greats like Babe Ruth and Joe DiMaggio. Since 1932, the Yankees have honored their all-time greats with monuments, which are open to the public before games. Lou Gehrig is considered one of the most under-rated sports players of all time.
