Personal Goals
Why did I decide to return back to school? The questions have been on my mind since day one. Returning to school has been a big debate for me. I have had several management positions making great money. I was afraid that time limitations will prevent me from returning to school. I have always wanted to finish my degree but when you have kids, busy work schedule and church activities to deal with everyday; when do you have time for school. Since leaving school back in 1990, my personal goal of continuous learning has been difficult for me to accept. Over the last 3 years, I have bounced from job to job and not been able to stay ahead of the job market. The
I feel that I do not have enough knowledge to effectively manage my company the way it should be managed. Being able to own and operate my family based businesses gave me the satisfaction of accomplishments achieved and a job well done. reason for this was because of the lack of education I had. With the help that University of Phoenix provides to me, I am sure that my decision to return to school to get my college degree will help me in this every changing job market. I have determined that with continuous learning and growth, I can achieve my personal goals in life. I never thought I would have the time to attend a campus like setting again. In order for me to have a successful business, I need more education and knowledge in business development, statistics, marketing and economics. Now that I have been given the opportunity to attend the University of Phoenix Online, my goal is to complete my degree in Business Management and use my degree towards my business. The focus for now should be concentrating on getting this education and knowledge and making sure I graduate and getting my college degree. Within the last four (4) years, I have started 3 businesses in my related field. I think that I have gain valuable knowledge in this field. I have worked in the Management and Accounting industry for the last nine (9) years. One thing that hinders me however is that my educational level is not where it suppose to be. I have made a signicant amount of progress since opening my businesses; however, it was hard work, motivation and dedication that kept me going.
