             The Immoralness and Corruption of the Characters in Gatsby
             In the novel The Great Gatsby the major characters could no be characterized as moral , and throughout the novel people and their actions are corrupt. For Example Daisy Buchanan is immoral and corrupt because of her snobbish ideals about money. Gatsby does not seem immoral, but when you see through his illusion he is. Tom is also immoral and corrupt because he treats women badly and his views of white supremacy. Nick last but not least is somewhat immoral because he helped two people have an affair. The entire story line of The Great Gatsby is full of immoral and corrupt characters.
             In the novel Nick is portrayed to have good values, but in all actuality he is corrupt in a way. First Nick uses Jordan Baker because she because of her status as a golf star. Also he did not see their relationship as a serious one. She was basically a quick fix for him at that point in time. Secondly Nick has know about all the lies, deceiving, and corrupt things throughout the book and he's done nothing. Nick says and I quote (About Jordan) "She was incurably dishonest."(Gatsby,63). Last the most immoral thing Nick did was hook up Gatsby and Daisy. Although that is an affair it never crossed Nick's mind that it was wrong what he was doing. Tom and Daisy are marries. Even though Tom is being unfaithful two wrongs do not make a right. "I'm going to call cup Daisy tomorrow and invite her over for tea... What day would suit you?"(Gatsby,87). This is when Nick and Gatsby were planning a secret reunion between the two ex- lovers. Nick started the whole immoral behavior between Gatsby and Daisy. Nick could have prevented the whole occurrence. Even though at times Nick is a good character at times his actions and choices are poor. Th
