Adolescent Influences

             Friends can influence the life of teens, and so can media, in various ways. Without friends we would all be very lonely, have no one to depend on, no one to talk to, and you can't say that's not true we can talk to relatives, because relatives are friends in one way or another. Friends, are, the most important asset we all attain. But then again, we shouldn't be quick to rule out the media, as it is an important factor also.
             Friends can change the way you act and think. Starting off with childhood, you quickly learn what toys are in, or what cartoons everyone watches, or what sports we all like to play. This will set you in with certain people and soon you become part of a, lets say, "friend circle." You also have to maintain a certain coolness to stay in that friend circle. Just like keeping up with the shows and things like that, not picking your nose, if you know what I mean. Peer pressure can also change the way you act and think, it can make you more resistant to some friends, or make you come closer. For example, your 13 years old and you are dared to run across the highway, great example of peer pressure, you say yes and do it, assuming that you don't get hit by one of the 300 cars driving at over 100 km/h, they will think you are the coolest person ever and admire you. Of course, then you can say no, and they will despise you and regret they ever made friends with such a wimp in the first place. These are the everyday problems (peer pressure) that factor into all of our lives, and shape us in one way or form.
             The media surprisingly can also be of great influence. These people are the secondary factor, which shape the lives of teens nowadays. All they do is put pressure on us, pressure to perform like the amazing athlete on the front cover of sports illustrated, or to look like the swimsuit model on the cover of rolling stone magazine, or dress like the centerfold from playboy.
