Gun control

             You're sitting in your room late one evening when you hear something downstairs. At first you ignore it thinking it's just a noise. Then you hear something even louder and it seems to be approaching your door. You don't know who this could possibly be being that you live by yourself. Fearing the worst you reach over to your nightstand and retrieve your gun. You quickly take the trigger lock off of it and load it with bullets, which are also in the nightstand. All of the sudden you hear footsteps stop outside your door. You frantically move to the corner of your room where you sit and wait. Without warning your door flies open and their stands a masked person waiting to attack. You raise the gun and yell it's loaded. The masked burglar then quickly flees from your room and exits your house. How can owning a gun be such a bad thing when used for self-defense? Why is our government trying to make it harder for law-abiding citizens to obtain handguns?
             Gun Control is a very controversial subject in our society. Gun control is the effort to regulate or control the sale of guns to stop the amount of violent crime. If you are for gun control then you believe that guns are the main contribution to a major problem in our society, crime. People who are for gun control feel that guns cause crime and that they need to be regulated more strictly. They also feel that gun control laws help to keep guns off the streets and out of criminal's hands. If you are against gun control then you feel that by regulating guns so strictly, your second amendment rights are being infringed upon. People who are against gun control feel that they should be allowed to possess any firearm. They also feel that the gun control laws are only affecting law-abiding citizens.
