THE CONCERT
I got early just as the teacher had told us to do I thought it was going to be a concert with pianos and great orchestras, but to my surprise when I saw the plan and took a look at it the first thing that I saw was the name of the ?Chamber Ensembles? being a little bit early to the concert that gave the extra time that I needed to prepare myself for the concert. I was a little bit nervous, because I have never in my life been in a concert I have been to a lot of battle of the bands and all that kind of concerts, the concert was about to start so I got my paper and pen ready to take notes. The first piece was Ricercar ?Fa? From motteta trium vocum just by looking at the time that this piece was wrote it came to my mind that it was going to be a Baroque concerto but then again it was a little bit early to be in the baroque era, so it had to be renaissance era. This was a piece that I thought I have heard before it reminded me of a movie that I don?t recall the title but it was about some Irish person I don?t remember well enough, the piece was over and the audience response to this interpretation was enthusiastic. Everything was going swell the music that was play by the trio was smooth this gave a sense of relaxation in the audi
This piece was played moderato in allegro form when it first started I thought of a ballet. It was the time for the guitars to take stage the audience was not so silent I saw two men putting seven chairs on the stage so I came to the conclusion that there were going to be seven guitarist playing together, I got excited being a guitar player myself. After that the other pieces were good the performers transmitted emotion by the way they were playing at the end of the last piece the two guitarist look at each other like mimic ally telling the audience that the piece was over. The Guitar Two Ensembles directed by Jose Luis Escobedo I was surprise by the age of the performers they were really young all of their pieces were wrote by Juan Antonio Muro, the first piece begun slowly and note by note the guitars sounded like drops of water very organized very synchronized, it was one of those pieces that you can put words to it. I looked again to my plan and saw a familiar name Brandenburg concerto at first I thought It was one that I was familiar with(Brandenburg Concerto #5) I was wrong it was #3 but it was the same composer one of the greatest composer from the Baroque era: Johan Sebastian Bach. At the beginning of my Music Appreciation Class our teacher told us to assist to the concert and I know regret that I didn?t listen to him and that I only came to the last one. I noticed that the coordination between was a lot better then the first group maybe it was because there were less. I thought to myself that there is a lot of talent in Brownsville because the violinists were virtuosos? players and I thought that it was the best way to end a great concerto. ence even me, being a little bit sick with cold but the sound of the music relax me. I remember that one of the girl left her flute on the stand and I was wandering what she was about to do she stands up and the next piece begins and she begins to sing along in like with a virtuosos voice and the response to the end of the piece was a big applause from the audience to the performers. There were a little bit of mistakes in coordination very little ones and even thought they were little I think the audience notice them because the response was not very enthusiastic. So my opinion of this concert is that it was a new and great experience to people like me that are new in the world of concerts and classical music. The next group was a duet compose by an old guy and someone a little bit younger the first piece was a combination a bases from one guitar and high notes from the other one this was totally awesome even thought the sound was relaxing the audience look into the performance I got a little bit distracted by the seven guitarist that were making their exit. The next piece Adagio by Franz Schubert another familiar name but this was from the romantic era. This concert changed my view of music and expanded my musical horizons.
