Prejudice is something everyone has to live with. Everyone has some form of prejudice whether it be against people, food, music, or any number things. Throughout literature, however, Prejudice against people attracts much attention and focus is placed of what it is exactly and are it's roots.Even though as a whole, the whites were a minority in South Africa, the whites were split into two tribes quarrelling tribes that were prejudice against each other. The headmaster at PK's school said "It's Afrikaner law we're living under now, gentleman."(The Power of One) when referring to the fact they got in trouble for schooling blacks in English and were forced to hut down the Saturday school. One of the officers who followed the school's pupils, sergeant Botha, hated PK for being British. In fact, he found the black pupil's only after watching PK with them and his hatred for both was demonstrated by his strong-arming the headmaster.
