A Beautiful Island
For many people, the land in America is the only thing they find to be beautiful in this world. But as a young adult I have already left the country to find many eye opening sights beyond the land of the United States. To me, the most beautiful place I have ever been was the island of Jamaica. It is easy for me to find peace and beauty on this island. The first thing that hit me like a massage of aroma as I stepped off the plane was the sweet moist air of this tropical island. The fruit, flowers, and over all natural environment is enough to make me never want to leave. I gather all of this, and I haven’t even left the airport yet. The local taxicab takes me across the island. Overwhelmed by be . . .
auty far and wide I find myself breathless. Not far into my stroll I encounter a busy street buzzing with excitement and diversity. Continuing across the island I find that towering mountains have surrounded me as far as my eye can see. Seeing what a beautiful island this is, smelling the sweet moist air, and being welcomed by the locals like I’ve lived there for years makes me never want to leave. But I know I must return home soon, and this dream of an island that is fortunately a reality cannot be a part of my life just yet. Allowing him to take care of my bag with not a worry in my mind, I decide to go for a walk into the nearby village. Not believing how fast the cab ride has gone I arrive at a small hotel on the beach. I am comforted with a smile and a helping hand back to the direction I started. In time only will I be able to return and exist in peace and happiness for all the days I spend on this wonderful earth. Approaching a local, I was greeted in a warm way that can only be soothing to the soul. But in the valleys are grazing cows and galloping horses on the smooth flatlands of Jamaica. People of all color and creed running small stands to support themselves for a simple carefree life here on the island. The ocean, clear as a finely cut African diamond is blue and beautiful. Realizing what kindness these people live their lives in makes me never want to leave.
