Van Goghsuffered from depression due to a sense of failure as an artist, as well as his failure in any romanticrelationships he persued. Coleman says, "'He was happy to paint,'she says. Many people thought that Vincent was crazy as well. These mental illnesses took toll on Vincent psychologically. Today most of his paintings are held in the VanGogh Museum in Amsterdam (Van Gogh's 1). Other professionals diagnosed him with illnesses ranging from schizophreniato temporal lobe epilepsy.
