Animal Farm
Throughout the extraordinary novel Animal Farm, George Orwell introduces us to a fact of life that is very true and hard to overcome. This fact of life is "absolute power corrupts absolutely", and through his great satire Animal Farm, Orwell informs us on how "absolute power corrupts absolutely". Orwell was a pure socialist and, he thought communism was just another way for the elite to control the majority of peasants. In animal farm, Orwell argues that absolute power corrupts absolutely, though communism is the perfect government on paper, propaganda and hypocrisy get the best of the system, when one becomes obsessed with the power one has, one tends to abuse it, animal farm is an excellent example of how power corrupts and Orwell uses allegory to suggest this. " Alcohol was originally seen as a grave evil of the new regime. Particularly the passages that reference the changes in the Animal Code, such as "Animals shall not drink alcohol. But sometimes you might make the wrong decisions, comrades, and then where should we be?" The classic hypocrisy seen here is too hard to miss, squealer is telling the animals exactly what they need to hear, but exactly what Napoleon and the other pigs do not believe. Orwell uses his allegorical farm to symbolize the communist system. Jones (who represents the Czars), is not inherently evil in itself, Napoleon's preceding adoption of nearly all of Mr. He would be only too happy to let you make your decisions for yourselves. Jones lost power over the animals when he became drunk and lazy, and even Napoleon will eventually be overthrown because of the alcohol he intakes. Orwell alludes to this near the end of the book when he says that in generations to come there will be still more uprisings.
