2004 Presidential Debate

The University of Miami was host of the 2004 presidential debate which unveiled the true strength of both candidates President George W. Bush and Senator John Kerry. Moderating this debate was Jim Lehrer who covered questions overall concerning homeland security and foreign policy.

This war has got Bush over his head and he seems scared not wanting to do anymore harm than good which is not only hurting him but America as well. Laden as an excuse for attacking Irak without a peace plan.

When Senator John Kerry was asked ‘as president what would you do with homeland security and what has Bush done’ he mentioned he’d use it to fix bridges, schools, health care and to improve American security. However Bush declined to do bi-latter global affairs which is key to opening up more alliances. Kerry even pointed out that Bush’s own father had once mentioned in his book that there was no viable exit strategy in invading Iraq, yet Bush rushed to war claiming that Saddam Hussein was a threat to America when the focus was on catching Bin Laden. Annoyingly President Bush never accepted or even acknowledge that he’d made a mistake in going to war in Irak.

When asked ‘If you are chosen president what is the top priority going into office?’ both candidates answered nuclear proliferation. Kerry then went on criticizing President Bush for spending millions on improving Iraki training and security but yet American troops don’t even have the armor needed for combat, summarizing that this war will only put America in debt.
