Society has a new enemy the Pit bull Terrier. However is Society going to realize that this is a dog, he/she doesn't have a conscience and does not realize that it has hurt or killed an individual, it does not feel remorse. The responsibility begins with the breeder and ends with the owner
             There are people who are using these dogs to satisfy their own whims or egos. You make the decision to own a pet. If you are not ready to take on the responsibility of owning a dog, especially one with the strength of a pit bull than you shouldn't own one.
             A dog who is bred and raised properly can be a loyal companion to his/her owner. However, many people have decided to use this breed to instill fear in others. They breed and raise them so that they become extremely aggressive. They use them in dog fighting. for their own entertainment and profit. These people are using and abusing these dogs. After a dog is abused it becomes fearful, and most dogs attack out of fear. Sure, pit bulls are naturally an aggressive breed, but this can be controlled with the proper training and in the hands of a responsible owner.
             Dog owners must be held accountable for the actions of their dogs. They must provide the proper training for their dog and make sure the dog is under their control at all times. People should have the right to walk the streets freely without the fear of being attacked by a dog. Doesn't society have enough to fear in today's day and age?
             My family pet is a 95 pound rotiwieller, another breed that is feared by most. He is liking having a 90lb lap dog. She has been raised in a loving nuturing environment. We have taken her to obedience school and she is very well trained. She is a wonderful addition to our family and a great companion to all our family members.
