Cool Hand Luke
What we don't have here is a lack of communication. "Cool Hand Luke" is a classic that is truly praiseworthy. With its detailed characterizations, stamina, and emotional roller coaster, the audience is able to see Luke's true testament of individuality. The classic account of "Cool Hand Luke" is a movie worth multiple viewings. Although his popularity with the inmates is satisfying for himself, it is not appeasing to the guards. The audience sees how Luke will risk everything to lead up to the other inmates' expectations. He knows this is the end of his road, and the movie slows down. His spirit is never completely broken down. During the aftermath of Luke's punishment, he puts on a brave new face and makes another escape. Part of the endurance during the movie is the many different emotions and phases Luke goes through while participating in the chain gang. Also, later on in the movie Luke tries to escape several times, and is punished by being consigned to the box for several days. Luke's cheerful and persevering attitude eventually overwhelms the rest of the inmates. Eventually he earns their respect by never giving up during a conflicting fight against another inmate named Dragline. So, even though Luke can never be reformed, he triumphs with his unique spirit. Luke finds shelter, along with Dragline, in an abandoned church only to find his final destiny. Luke manages to keep his dignity and integrity throughout the movie while being a non-conformist.
