Love or Arranged Marriages The first time I saw the movie 'Romeo and Juliet' was in English class. The film is an adaptation of the play by William Shakespeare about two teenagechildren from warring families who fall in love. Convinced that their families will never allow their marriage, the two lovers attempt to conceal their affair. This film was made in the late 60's and I had the impression that it could be boring. However, I like it so much so I have rented it because I wanted to see it again. Scenes like the ballroom, the balcony, the wedding have impressed me very much because the movie was actually so executed with great conviction. While I was watching that film I realized that everyone seeks a little bit of romance in his life because romance and love is something that fulfils every person in the world. My emotions as I was watching that film were great. This film is based on love. I truly believe that a relationships or marriages can be successful if they are based on love. Many people say that love marriages are most part immature. We can not say that all love marriages will be failures or all arranged marriages will be successful or otherwise. Also, a person that agreed to have an arranged marriage does not risk it to divorce. There is not any enthusiasm and 'chemistry' in their relationship and they may experience problems with the other factors. If I know that someone else chose my mate, I will do my best to "break" this marriage. El Arabe just wanted a way to get his son a visa. Why? If the life is full-filling, they live together happily; if not, they live together unhappily and also sometimes they avoid divorce. The marriage in modern societies can be achieved with or without the permission of the couple's families. The love marriage starts basically with love and there is a risk on the other factors. It is better to have a divorce than to live in an unhappy marriage. I do not understand why some people still believe that the arranged marriage can be more successful than the love marriage. The emotions of the girl and the emotions of the young couple in the "Romeo and Juliet' shows how important is the love in a relationship or marriage. In my opinion, the happiness in these marriages is not sure. Modern societies used to believe that the marriage is a matter of the couple and not of the third parties. The love and the enthusiasm are the first things that occur in that relationships like Romeo and Juliet. A successful marriage of relationships must have love, support, tolerance, communication, realistic expectations, caring, nurturing, sense of humor, commitment, respect, know how to handle conflict, problem solve together, interdependence, caring, enjoy one another and have fun together. Persons that have an arranged marriage can be excellent "roommates".
