Inherit The Wind
Inherit The Wind is a play written by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee. The setting of the play was in a town called Hillsboro back in July of 1925. The play is based on the actual event that really happened in Dayton, Tennessee. The event is based upon what The Bible states vs. what evaluation states on how mankind was brought onto this Earth. One of the main characters in the play is a man by the name of Matthew Harrison Brady. Brady is "a benign giant of a man". He has run for president three times and has lost each time. He is a claimed expert on The Bible. He is a very well known man. The town itself is a very religious town and believes in The Bible very strongly. The question is why does Matthew Harrison Brady come to Hillsbo
Using The Bible against him and questioning his knowledge of it ends up breaking Mr. Drummond is a good friend of Brady's and has figured out a way to break him down by using The Bible against him. Brady is a strong believer of what The Bible states and uses what he knows about The Bible to his knowledge to his advantage. Making it look as if she was committing the same crime of not believing in what The Bible says. She is the daughter of the Reverend in the town and is the fiance of Bret Cates. Brady became a witness himself and was able to tell what he knew and prove something to the jury. Drummond questions Brady on different events in The Bible such as the whale swallowing Jonah. Howard states that what his teacher, Mr. Brady ask Rachel questions which causing her break down and basically putting words into her mouth.
