             "Put a smile on your face, make the world a better place."
             These popular song lyrics explain the way that it is possible
             to brighten up someone's day with a simple flash of a
             smile. While walking in the hall one dark, cloudy day, I was
             feeling glum. All of a sudden, I passed by an old friend
             who gave me the biggest smile I have ever seen. This
             small, painless act made my entire day. An uncomplicated
             gesture that made my day a little easier to live through.
             While reading the book, As You Like It, by William
             Shakespeare, I realized the profound changes this can
             make in anyone's life. That miniscule display of a kind
             heart, may brighten up life a little. Because of the affect it
             has on peoples' lives, kindness is like sunshine.
             In the beginning of this book, the two cousin's,
             Rosalind and Celia are discussing whether or not they will
             attend the wrestling-match. Celia wants Rosalind to go
             because she thinks that it will cheer her up. Celia protests,
             "I pray you, Rosalind, my sweet cousin, be merry." This
             modest remark, said in a gentle tone, convinced Rosalind
             to go to the match. Not only did that statement get her to
             go enjoy herself at an outing, but it also made her life a little
             better by knowing that someone cared. It mattered to
             someone whether or not she was around; someone wanted
             her company to brighten up their day.
             Later on in the story, Celia and Rosalind attended the
             wrestling-match. While noticing the two contenders, the
             two girls realized that it was an unfair fight. An extremely
             powerful man was wrestling against a young, inexperienced
             man. The two girls were startled and scared for the man so
             they decided to go and speak to him. Rosalind spoke so
             kindly to him, and with such feelings of consideration for
             the danger he was about to undergo, that instead of being
             persuaded by her gentle words to forego hi...
