             CODI'S ISSUES AND DOC'S SECRET
             The most notable matter in Kingsolver's book "Animal Dream" is the conflict of feelings between Codi and her father. In the first two chapters, we're already been introduced to two separate points of views of them toward each others. Despise those opposite love and resentment we've been revealed to the author takes us on the trip of the mind of our two main characters, Codi and Doc Homer, her father to find the reasons, the secrets that lie deep inside and help them resolve their conflicts. Although we are offered many clues about what happened between Codi's unconnected memories, Doc Homer's mixed-up flashback we don't understand their connections yet until the end of the book. By using her subtle style, the author weaves in the scrambled order of events in her story structure by creating the memory-troubled mind of Codi problem that is also the major issue of the plot. A major result of Kingslover's clever presentation of mixed-up event is to delay the truth, the secret that ruins lives of Codi and her father. The scrambled orders of Codi's memories and Doc Homer's flashback not only result in a concluding surprise but the form also echoes their isolations from each others, conflict of emotions, their characters in difficult circumstances and it also bring out the struggle between their past and present.
             Kingslover's presentation of mixed-up order is best reveals in Codi's seemingly unconnected memory that reflects her inner self of doubts, isolation, conflict and confusion. Her style of telling story lure our curiosity to find more clues or puzzle pieces to connect the picture of the truth to resolve Codi's confusion.
