Basketball
Basketball would have to be one of my most favorite activities. It's one of the things I do on my spare time. I use basketball as an escape from reality. Playing basketball, it's the greatest thing to do because competition can get fierce. Winning and losing is the exciting part because no matter if you lose or win you still feel great afterwards. There are all sorts of different people that play this sport. You don't have to be a certain height or weight, you don't even have to be the same race; you're just a team. When I'm just sitting around the house with nothing to do I get up, and go outside to shoot around. Sometimes, when there's no one to play with, I image there's a defender there, guarding me. When your shooting around you can imagine whatever you want. I love to imagine that I have the ball and we're only down by one point with two seconds left on the clock and it's all up to me to win the game. I love to put myself under pressure when I shoot. It makes it exciting and better then just shooting one shot after another. I will even think about going one-on-one with Michael Jordan. Imagining that I'm not the only one there strengthens my creativity and my mental game. It also keeps me physically fit and
Playing games is the fun part about it because competition is intense. It's like a family, you trust in them to be there when you need them and you put your faith in them. When I do that it makes me stronger, and helps me improve on my all around skills. I constantly run games, plays, and moves through my head, and I still slip up during some games. Basketball does take a lot of energy out of you, but if you keep on playing you grow a tolerance to playing at a certain level. When I play a team and lose I feel like I know I can get better to beat that team, and when I play them again I have this look in my eyes like I can't be stopped. There's no other better feeling then being accepted into a family and experiencing your wins and loses with each other. Communication is a key role in the team. From the second you start playing you know that basketball just isn't physical, it also is a mental game. I love being in shape and feeling like I can't be stopped. You might win but the win doesn't make you any better. There's no racism when it comes to basketball games because you see Caucasians cheering for Native Americans, and Native Americans cheering for African Americans. If I play a game with everything I have and just play until I can't play anymore, but end up losing I still feel strong, and powerful. You don't have to have a certain religion or ethnicity when it comes to basketball.
