He has over seventeen billion dollars endowed in the William H Gates Foundation. The markets exploded as the computer age erupted. For computers back then were still the size of a room, and only run by sophisticated scientists. It was software that enabled the computer to carry out commands. Having an interest in computers was extremely rare, especially for a young teenage boy. By now Bill and his family were extremely wealthy. This program has also funded technology and training to teachers working with 5th, 6th and 7th graders. One of these applications was Microsoft Word. It was very user-friendly so even children could use it, making it very popular. In a span of a couple of years Microsoft wrote a bunch of software.
