Drunk Driving

A MADD National Director of Victim Services, Debbie Weir said, "How many more crowds of lives must perish before we get the message that we've each got to deliver this message of unacceptability to those who drink and claim they're fine to drive?" For about a decade, fatalities from drunk driving have decreased about forty percent, but now, why is that the number of deaths has only decrease to seven percent? The government had passed a tougher law by lowering the legal limit of intoxication to .08 Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). What is going on and why is that the number of deaths have not made a big difference from the one before? That is a question we need to ask ourselves. Texas has the most fatalities and California has the second most fatalities for 2001 and 2002. In 1999 to 2000, the number of deaths in car crashes rose up to four percent. It's only been half of the year, and there are already 9,157 deaths in alcohol-related car crashes, so does that mean the number will double up by the end of the year, so that makes it to about 18,000 deaths. I asked again, why is that the number of deaths keeps going up the ladder, even though the government has passed a tougher law.
