Many people are faced with the horrible disease, alcoholism. Billboards all across the states promote this item. As long as this culture continues to see alcohol just as a way of life, consequences such as alcoholism will continue to grow. One can say this can be the fault of genetics within the family who have had alcoholism run through generations, however, because society sees alcohol as a way of life it is easily capable to fall into the hands of this epidemic. To lead your life not thinking how serious alcohol can be can lead to many consequences. Within this culture, it seems that this consequence is over looked at because for the majority alcohol is more or less a part of peoples' daily lives. The assumption that alcohol is a way of life for the American people can be clearly illustrated when understanding how this product is viewed within that culture. Because alcohol so readily available and is just part of the everyday American life people underestimate that this product can take over ones life, negatively. This assumption made by the American culture cannot be looked at as just a way of life. People indulge in this product without second thought. They also appear in storefronts, where all are able to see them, even little children. One does not enter a restaurant without seeing on the menu the variety of alcoholic beverages available to them. High school students as well as college students focus the majority of their "partying" around alcohol. Most Americans do not look at a billboard sign and are disgusted to see alcohol being advertised to them this issue probably does not even cross their mind.
