Bill Gates and Economics
On October 28, 1955, William Henry Gates, lll, was born. Gates and his two sisters grew up in Seattle, Washington. His late mother was a teacher and his father is a lawyer. Gates went to public school until junior high in which he attended Lakeside School, where he met Paul Allen. In 1968, at the age 13, Gates began programming computers. Soon afterward, Gates, Allen, and some other students convinced a computer company to give them full access to a new minicomputer; in exchange they would try to find flaws in the system. Gates spent most of his time on the computer figuring out its program language. In 1972, Gates and Allen started their first business. They made car-counting machines for traffic analysis.Gates was attending Harvard in 1975 when he teamed up with Paul Allen again but this time to write a BASIC programming language for the Altair 8800, the first personal computer. That same year Gates, in his junior year, dropped out of college and founded the company, which will make him the richest man in the world, Microsoft. It has the most credibility of all of the systems. He could become richer; he could become broke and living on the street in a cardboard box, very unlikely.
