Rubber: Usefull and Historic

Materials that make life easier have been discovered all over the globe. In the past we have stumbled across some of these extremely useful resources. These elements have completely revolutionized the way people performed certain activities. One of these vital substances was used long before Europeans found any interest in it. This valuable material was rubber. It's been spread throughout the planet due to popularity and demand. Ever since it was discovered, rubber has played an important part in our daily lives. Rubber was first utilized by the Pre-Columbian peoples of South and Central America. They used it to make containers, balls, and shoes. It was also their key element for waterproofing fabrics. Even though rubber was mentioned by Spanish and Portuguese writers in the Sixteenth Century, the Europeans did not find an interest in the product. It wasn't appealing to Europe until

In 1835, other processes in rubber factories were invented by Edwin Chaffee, who was American. All over the world, rubber was being used in more and more quantities, and thanks to man-made rubber, the quantities are available. Hancock developed the masticator, which had rollers through which the rubber is passed to partially break the polymer chains. In 1820, the first rubber factory in England was established by Thomas Hancock. Germany for example, made a fake rubber during World War I, but it was a bit pricy for common peacetime use. England had to get seeds of rubber producing trees smuggled in from Brazil in 1876. The rubber industry was forever changed when Charles Goodyear discovered vulcanization in 1839. He patented a mixing mill and a calendar, which was a press for rolling rubber into sheets. In 1770, Joseph Priestley had the idea of cutting pieces of rubber, and discovered the first rubber eraser. America took that rubber, and developed a less costly version along with neoprene, which is used in weather-resistant products, adhesives, shoe soles, sportswear, paints, and rocket fuels to this very day. The first rubber factory was built near Paris in 1803. There isn't a day that goes by that a person does not some in contact with rubber or synthetic rubber material. What once was the key ingredient for a ball in Central America before the sixteenth century has evolved to become one of the most common substances around. The secondary seedlings were sent out to the tropics.
