Animation

Finding Nemo, released in 2003, was nominated for an Academy Award for "Best Animated Feature Film".
Brother Bear, released in 2003, was also nominated for "Best Animated Feature Film"
Monster's Inc., released in 2001,premiered with the best opening ticket sales for an animated film.
Rugrats the Movie, released in 2004, was nominated for "Favorite Movie" in The Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards.
All of these movies have a common denominator. They are all animated feature films released in the past four years. Since we have entered the 21st century animation is becoming more and more common. Years ago it was extremely rare to get even one A-list actor to sign on as a voice of an animated character. On the other hand, the most recently released animated film, Shark Tale, starred several A-Listers including, Will Smith, Angelina Jolie and Jack Black.
What does this mean? Animation is no longer just to help toddlers fall asleep at night. It is pertaining to all audiences, young and old. Animation is sweeping cinemas. Animated movies now range from heart warming, family oriented tales all the way to scary twisted horror stories. With the animation industry booming there will be plenty more to come. Disney and Pixar are both practically household names when it comes to Production lines, but there will likely be many more in the next few years. Actors and actresses are more likely now to sign on to a movie that only stars their voice then they were a decade ago. Animation is also no longer the begining of the end of your acting career. As time passes animation will probably tell more emotional and intense stories then ever imagined. There is no idication that animators intend on keeping their talent to themselves, now or ever.
