Much of the adventure of reading about such a place like Mars is lost when it ends up being nothing more than a typical a. The family intends to find the perfect city to live in and expects to reproduce and eventually regenerate mankind on Mars. In "The Million-Year Picinic", Bradbury expresses much of his thoughts and curiosity of space being our future. Walter Bradbury (no relation), a friend of Ray's, noticed a connection between the editorials and convinced him to turn the short stories into a novel involving life on Mars and the end of the Earth (Bradbury 205). Ray Bradbury's short story,"The Million-Year Pcinic" is characterized by his use of science fiction , the imagination , and poptimism. Martian civilization is built in a shadow of earlier civilizations much like Indians were to Americans (67). All of the short stories from Th Martian Chronicals, dated from Jan. shared with readers ranging from astronaunts to third graders (Bradbury CLC 86).
