Woodstock took place with the minds of 4 very different young men, John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, Artie Kornfeld, and Michael Lang. The oldest of the 4 was 26 who was John Roberts. Roberts supplied the money. He was heir to a drugstore and toothpaste manufacturing fortune. The 4 men had met in February 1969 and all seemed interested in the idea of a cultural exposition/rock concert/extravaganza. By the end of the 3rd meeting the little party up in Woodstock grew to the Worlds biggest Rock and roll show. The 4 partners formed a corporation in March. Each held 25 percent. The company was called Woodstock Ventures, Inc., after the hip little Ulster County town where Dylan lived. The 4 men soon drove up to Wallkill in late March in order to find a site for the event.
