Anyone who was alive at the time when President John F. Kennedy wasassassinated remembers exactly what happened and where they were when theyheard the news that he died. That is why I interviewed my parents on where theywere and some other events that happened that only people who were alive wouldknow about. I interviewed them on December 5th at my house. I taped it and alsoshowed some clips that my mom taped on an anniversary of his death. A newsstation had a special on John F. Kennedy and they showed the old footage of theassassination events and the funeral ceremonies. Before I interviewed my parents Ishowed when Walter Cronkite, a newscaster, first came on TV and said thatPresident Kennedy was shot and later died. I did that because I wanted everyone tosee the emotion and the sadness that he had. It showed history in the making. Ialso showed a bit of the funeral procession. The coffin was pulled by 6 white horses,3 of which were riderless in respect to the assassined President. One horse walkedbehind the coffin and it was also riderless with inverted stirrups and Calvary bootsin them. The toes of the boots were facing the rear out of respect. Dignitaries and
Archbishop Richard CardinalCushing led the funeral services. They were all waving to the people when 3 shots rang out. When I interviewed my parents they both knew exactly where they were. Many people from all over the world paid their respects to the late PresidentKennedy, before his body was carried to Arlington National Cemetery where he wasburied. Theythought it was kind of ironic that he went to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, the samehospital as President Kennedy was in, and he was treated in an emergency roomright across from where President Kennedy died. system either from a TV newscast or the radio. The time between the assassination and thefuneral, November 22, 23, 24, and 25, 1963 was known as the Four Dark Days inHistory. I learned a lot of new things when I interviewed my parents. Now that I said everything about my interview, I am going to add somethings that led up to or happened when President John F. For example, Ididn't know that the man accused of killing President John F. The motorcade sped on and thedestination was now Parkland Hospital. Basically because he was the first president whosepresidency was on TV and he was so young and charming. Then the schools got let out early, and again no one talked on the bus ride home. He gave a speech in Fort Worth, which was his last.
