Christopher Columbus: Imperfect Hero Most people would think of Christopher Columubus as the perfect hero. On his way to find India, Columbus made a wrong turn and ended up finding and entirely new continent, the Americas. His expedition ws supported by King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella of Spain. Some say he's a hero because he found the New World, but some say that doesn't make
So instead of saying Columbus was the first person to discovered the New World, we could say Columbus was the first European to discover the new world. Christopher's brother Diego went with Christopher on this voyage. Along with Christopher and Diego there where six other ships filled with men. Since the land was already inhabited by the Indian Americans that would mean that Columbus didn't really discover the New World. " On this voyage Columbus discovered the coast of Central America, including the Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, and Martinique. Christopher Columbus is only known for discovering the America's but he isn't as famous for discovering Haiti, the Dominican Republic, Guadeloupe, Puerto Rico, and Jamaica. Christopher Columbus's fourth voyage was the fastest voyage across the Atlantic Ocean. On his third voyage he discovered Trinidad, South America and the mouth of the Ornico River. These colonies where established on Columbus's second voyage. Columbus is only known for discovering the America's but he made many more discoveries afterwords that he isn't as famous for.
