Owen meany
A Prayer For Owen Meany, a book I would recommend for a person to read at least once in their life. A book about a boy, Owen Meany, who believes that God has a plan for him, and that he serves god as his instrument. Owens best friend, Johnny Wheelwright, and other people who cross his path think Owen is crazy for believing such a thing. Yet, because of a few bizarre occurrences it seems like Owen might be right. Most of the book I liked, but it does contain a few parts that I did not like. If someone came up to me and asked me if I would recommend this book, I would have to say "Yes, I rate it a 8." Ok, first of all, you have no clue how much I laughed while reading this book. I believe I laughed the hardest when Owen wet himself the first time he met Johnny's cousins, they scared the heck out of each other. Owen desperately wanted to impress Johnny's cousins, instead his dwarf like appearance and his weirdly luminous skin frightened and made them scream, in turn frightening Owen. I also like how this book kept me interested. Throughout most of the book I couldn't help but wonder "wh
On the other side you have Johnny, average student, and not known as anything but Owens friend in school. Walker inadvertently gave Owen a "hard on. But I also feel that John suffered enough with the loss of his mother that he didn't need his best friend to die too. Johnny didn't have very much luck with the girls, but Owen did. om the father of Johnny is?" "Why would Johnny's mother, Tabby, lie about what she did while she was in Boston?" and "How can Owen live knowing the day of his death?" Lastly, you can learn a lot from reading this book. Since I like this book I would not change very much. Oh, and I can not forget this, during the Christmas Pageant Mrs. In conclusion, this book made me feel like we all have a purpose, or as Owen put it, fate. On one side you have Owen, who thinks God has a plan for him, among others he becomes knows as "The Voice" and has something I think John secretly wants, Hester. Owen had a strong religious faith, believing himself to be God's instrument on Earth; he also believes that everything that happens is fated, and that his own dreams are prophecies of his future purpose in life. For example, you can learn a great deal about faith and predestination. It sounds selfish, but I would think that if I were Johnny. Also I don't think that Owen should have died. Walker massaged Owens cheeks, told him that he is too pale and that baby Jesus should be apple-cheeked.
