Coeducation is the Best Choice for High School
Laird Harrison, in "A Classroom in Which You Can Speak Your Mind," believes schools should separate boys and girls. Laird Harrison said that even though a single-sex education might not be an optimum decision to help "every distracted student," it is considered a good solution for some. Harrison gives an example of a girl's classroom which was distracted by a boy who entered into the classroom. Most girls in middle school suggest without boys in the class they would be more open-minded and learn better. In this article, Harrison also states that all the girls didn't care to compete with boys and it is the same for the boys. In his research, after a year's experience in a single-sex classrooms program in the State of California, the teachers and students really liked the program, and most of them agreed to vote for single-sex education. In my opinion, I disagree with the author. When I first came to the U.S., I choose coeducation because it is the best choice for high school. First of all, coeducation is a natural environment. As we know, the real world consists of both sexes. Why shouldn't it be the same at school? If not, boys and gi
We've known each other for six years. For that reason, it will make the classes be more interesting. But the boys didn't give up; they went against us by joining in a group, and having a group study. By putting them together, we prevent them from thinking too much about the opposite sex, and they will concentrate better on studying. If they are separately educated, they will be interested in the opposite sex too much. They can know each other as best friends, and through that, they can help each other learn faster. If they are separate from each other, the world will be very dull, and the classes will also be dull. They helped each other out to compete with us. Learners at the high school level have not matured yet. Even when we were in the lab, we tried to do all the experiments faster than the boys. Coeducation can also provide both sexes with equal opportunity. Therefore, they have a lot of flexibility in their identities, ideas, and concepts.
