Humans, alongwith our extinct close ancestors, and as they say, ournearest living relatives, the African apes, are sometimesplaced together in the family Hominid. They believe thatbetween 7 and 20 million years ago, primitive ape-likeanimals were widely distributed on the African and, later,on the Eurasian continents. This is their justification forus, humans, being here today. In other words, they believe
