The Rigorous Journey to College

I have climbed up steep mountains, and ran over bumpy hills all to get to where I am today. In college at Winston Salem State University. My high school experience was a very hard and challenging experience, and I Did not think I would be here today. The journey started at a private school that I went to named Ravenscroft. This was a high credited school for academics and sports. My ninth grade year there was the year that hit me hard. I didn't pay a lot of attention to the massive overload of work that I was receiving. My mine was more on the girls and playing football; because I was a freshman on the varsity football team I thought I was hot stuff. By the end of the semester going into basketball season I had a talk with the coach of the football team. He told me that I was ineligible to play sports until my grade point average was at or above a 2.4. For the remainder of the next semester I tried to pull my grades up. But at the time I was so far behind there was not much I could really do. When my parents found out my about grades they where shocked. I had made all A's all through out middle school without doing nothing. I was using the same l

He signed me up for SAT classes and I had a tutor after practice every day, and took courses online. We sat down an talked for a while and I told him how all I wanted to do was get out of high school on time. After weighing my options I came back to him and decided to transfer. Now that I have been through all the hard stuff I plan to keep my head straight and correct all of my school mistakes through my little brother so he can get to college just like me and be successful. "Consistency is the Key to Success", "success follows struggles", and last but not least is "hard work out does talent, when talent does not work hard". When one day the new head coach from Southern high school was on the field while I was working out. I ended up taking online a course to get the credit and played JV basketball that year. He explained to me that he saw a lot of potential in me an that if I was willing to transfer to Southern to play football he would promise me that I graduate on time an also get into a college. I attended the school for two years. Coming off a great year I was excited about going to the eleventh grade and getting to play football again. All summer long I thought about how I was going to graduate. The year went by fast I had made all A's with the help of my tutors and coach. I ended up passing the grade but my second semester classes that I failed where classed that I need to graduate.
