High school verse grade school

School, teacher, and the class room: these are all very familiar things. Being a college student I get to be part of it all. I am going to become a teacher, but I have always wondered what the difference between teaching in a grade school verses a high school. Does money separate them? What kind of people decide to work in a high school? After pondering these ideas I decided to go find out for myself. In my first interview I got a chance to speak with Mrs. Kate Tovsand, a teacher at Davenport Central High School. Prior to working at Central, she taught at Sudlow Intermediate for four years. She became a teacher to try to help people, she loves literature, and says she will never change her mind and stop teaching. Mrs. Tovsand started her schooling at Scott Community College for two years then moved on to Saint Ambrose University for two more years to receive her bachelors degree in 1998. After earning her bachelors degree she was a substitute teacher at area schools for two years. Following her substitute teaching experience she went back to school for her masters degree in English Literature. Currently she is taking her renewal courses, six credits within five years are required, but is thinking
