Feudalism
Feudalism was the way of life for people. In the Middle Ages. Somepeople, like the royalty and nobles, supported and liked feudalism. Others, like serfs and slaves, did not enjoy feudalism. Everybody in society was involved with feudalism. Various parts of society were involved more than others. Feudalism emerged in western Europe in the ninth century. King Charlamagne was the first major supporter of this form of government. Feudalism is defined as a type of government in which political power was treated as a private possession and was divided among a large number of nobles. Feudalism was developed also tot decentralize the government. The people did not want to have one person control the entire country. Feudalism was also formed to be a way of protecting the people. The knights of the manor protected everyone that lived there. This was a easy way rather then forming one . . .
The noble owned them till they died. The royalty would not have a source of income. The serfs were only allowed days off according to the Church calendar. There were four major levels of Feudalism. This allowed manors to get help if they needed it. The manor was also centered around the Church. This gave the nobles an army to protect them. Many factors of society were intertwined with Feudalism. The serfs were the only ones to depend on themselves. For example, they would get off on Christmas and Easter. They would die protecting their noble’s manor. Society did factor into Feudalism, but Feudalism also formed society. They were the leaders who collected taxes from the workers.
