Feudalism was the way of life for people. In the Middle Ages. Somepeople, like the royalty and nobles, supported and liked feudalism. Others, likeserfs and slaves, did not enjoy feudalism. Everybody in society was involved withfeudalism. Various parts of society were involved more than others. Feudalism emerged in western Europe in the ninth century. KingCharlamagne was the first major supporter of this form of government.Feudalism is defined as a type of government in which political power wastreated as a private possession and was divided among a large number ofnobles. Feudalism was developed also tot decentralize the government. Thepeople did not want to have one person control the entire country. Feudalismwas also formed to be a way of protecting the people. The knights of the manorprotected everyone that lived there. This was a easy way rather then forming one
The noble owned them till theydied. The royalty would not have asource of income. The serfs were only allowed days off according to theChurch calendar. There were four major levels of Feudalism. This allowed manors toget help if they needed it. Themanor was also centered around the Church. This gave the nobles an army to protect them. Many factors of society were intertwined with Feudalism. Theserfs were the only ones to depend on themselves. For example, they would get off on Christmas and Easter. They would dieprotecting their noble's manor. Society did factor into Feudalism, but Feudalism also formed society. They were the leaders who collected taxes from the workers.
