Vehicles and the People Who Drive Them
There are so many stereotypes and classifications with driving a certain kind of vehicle. It could be from driving a specific brand of a vehicle to the type of vehicle. The stereotypes could come from the brand of car a person would drive, such as; Cadillac, Lincoln, and Mercury are the cars for elderly people. The types of vehicle stereotypes would be the soccer moms' vehicles, like vans first and foremost, but the others are station wagons and sport utility vehicles. These kinds of classifications are everywhere out there on the road, and these are just a couple of the examples. We are not quite sure why we classify vehicles with people and say you are what you drive. The stereotypes would probably never change and in the future we will come upon more of these stereotypes as more vehicles are being invented. Classifications that come along with driving
Soccer moms are another one of these categories and they also have their type of vehicle, which was explained earlier. Other vehicles a family might have rather than the four door car is the sport utility vehicle. Sports cars are mostly being driven by middle-aged men who have money. The old person's car, sports car, soccer mom, trucks, and the family car are a few of the many classifications we put with vehicles. What we can count on these stereotypes being there forever and changing as time goes on, but when someone sees a car it is automatically stereotyped. These were just a few of the many classifications of a vehicle. A sedan is a car that everyone can like, and it is called the family car because of the four doors. Stereotypes have been around for a long time and are here to stay. When trucks come to mind, we think about men and country people. Some men just like the fact of having a truck, others like to haul things and the convenience it provides with the bed, or putting big tires on the truck and playing in the mud. Women are usually driving sports cars with convertible tops, because women feel like they are younger and free from everyday life in a convertible sports car. However, there are more out on the road not mentioned here. The reason for a family to have a sport utility vehicle is usually for more room and a bigger family, but the family vehicle is still the four door sedan. The reason for these men buying sports cars in their life now is because a sports car is what they dreamed about when they were young, and now that they have money and are successful in their life these men buy them.
