             Lucy is just driving along, minding her own business in her old 1983 Datsun. It's a 38 degree day so she's got her air conditioner on and also her radio is on. Her car is leaking oil, though she doesn't know. She has just started her car and her exhaust is spurting out black smoke.
             Shaun's behind her in his new 1997 Vs Statesman and all of a sudden the black air starts coming through his air conditioner. Lucy has no idea that all her black smoke, and her oil, is killing the Earth and that
             ¹ 'driving a car is the most polluting act an average citizen commits'. Shaun starts coughing and because he's concentrating on covering his mouth he's not looking at where he is going and slips on Lucy's oil. Shaun loses control and smashes into Lucy and Shaun quickly gets out of his car to check out the damage and his car blows up!
             All the fumes coming out of his bonnet are really bad. It is a nitrogen oxide and that is a pollution that leads to acid rain. Also coming out of Shaun's bonnet and Lucy's exhaust is ² 'carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, nitrogen monoxide, sulphur dioxide, benzene, formaldehyde and polycyclic hydrocarbons'.
             Sure that doesn't seem that bad, but when you calculate how many cars there are out there with all of those chemicals it is a really bad thing.
             I think that the governments and big business's need to get together and try to stop people from driving so much. Some ways they could do that could do that could be to stop building roads, or replacing 30% of the roads we have and make them for public transport instead, and also they should give rewards to the people with non-polluting transportation alternatives and that will encourage people to stop driving.
