English History

             Throughout high school, I went through a lot of different English teachers. They all had their specification on what type of paper they liked. One of my best papers that I ever wrote was a research paper. I love to do research on a certain topic and go in depth to try to sum it all up into a paper. The research for me is the most exciting when it is about different events or places in history. My best research paper was one on the Czech Republic because it was really fascinating to find out interesting facts about the Czech Republic and compiling them into a paper. Looking through the sources, trying to find information that would suit the topic of the paper is intriguing because for me it is like I am trying to find the pieces to the puzzle and place it all together to make a suitable research paper. With research papers, it is also easy to begin with a blank page because everything is facts. As long as all the facts are correct it will be a proper research paper.
             The worst writing experience I probably had in high school was when one of my teachers told us to do a poetry notebook. First of all, I cannot write poetry and even when she said they could be short poems, I did not know where to begin. I just looked at my paper trying to think of what could and would be meaningful to someone else. It was discouraging writing the poems because basically it seemed like everyone else had the perfect poetic words flowing from their brain to their pen. I sat there a lot of times in class not knowing where to begin or what words to have rhyme or if there should be any words that rhyme. It is just so stressful for me to write poems, not to mention a whole notebook of them, because there are restrictions with meter and rhyme when it comes to writing them.
