Compare and Contrast: A Rose for Emily and Killings

I think the two stories, A Rose for Emily by William Faulkner and Killings by Andre Dubus have a lot of similarities. They both start out with their main characters a little crazy or a few mental problems. They aren't bad people to start with but turn to cold-blooded killers by the end of the story from their acts of love.
These are the reasons I think these two stories are a lot in comparison. These people committed these hideous crimes over the act of love and got away with it. Emily loved her man so much and probably feared him leaving. She killed him and had him there with her forever. Matt killed that man for the love of his dead son. After this happened there was an awful smell at her home. The town had a meeting to take care of the smell. They broke open the cellar door and sprinkled lime in there and in all the outbuildings (77). Again this was a pretty good indication that something was not right. She also went to the druggist and said, "I want some poison" (78). So the next day they said, "She would kill herself" (79). There were many reasons to believe she...
