In the play Willy is play as an elderly salesman and lost in false hopes and illusions. As Willy grown older, he has trouble distinguishing between the past and present. The character that suffer from Willy’s illusions and delusions was Biff, Willy’s eldest son. The three main reasons that Biff was suffering from Willy’s illusions and delusions were being well liked, being a salesman, and arguing with Willy all the time. Willy’s believed that all it takes to become successful is being well liked. Willy thought that Oliver would let Biff borrow some money even though if Bill Oliver hasn’t seen Biff around ten years. “ You know why he remembered you, don’t you? If Willy doesn’t motivate Biff from cheating then he could have been learning something that would help him in the real world. But it was to hard for him because he doesn’t have the patient to wait and he is not well-educated person. So he want to go some to some other places to find the real him so he doesn’t have to be at home and face Willy’s illusions and delusion before something going to happen. 22) Biff gives up his goal just for Willy. Being well liked is not the key word for being success because being popular can always be forget, but if you have skills it is always there when you need it.
