Pro position2 Due to the ineffectiveness of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, discrimination, harassment, and expulsion are all too common. When Nicole reported the harassment directed at her, things just got worse. Under the Civil Rights Act of 1964 it states, "It shall be an unlawful employment practice for an employer to fail or refuse to hire or to discharge any individual with respect to his compensation, terms, conditions, or privileges of employment, because of such individual's race, color, religion, sex, or national origin"(U. Not allowing homosexuals in the military is so controversial because many people believe that it is violating civil rights. His body was so badly damaged that his liver contained holes that allowed the doctor to see straight though it. In addition, there should be a more strict and precise policy on harassment and assault towards homosexuals. Nicole says, "Rumors had circulated that I was gay, and this instructor would make cracks about dikes in the water and turn to me saying, Don't get too excited about that word.
