Ethics
Marriage and family have played a major role in women's lives throughout history and especially in the United States. This role has mostly been restricting. Many people in the United States have grown up with the concept of "romantic love", equal treatment with their significant others. However during the old ages, the subject of equality was taboo. There are still other parts of the world where the concept of male dominance as norm. I decide to address this issue because I grew up with a lots of girls in my family, and two of my sisters being involved in bad marriages, I am somewhat sensitive to this issue. Plus ironically I come from a conservative tradition that embrace male dominance relationship in a marriage, at least all the core beliefs suggest that. "A doll's house by issban and antgone by clearly illustrate this unfair social status that's given to females in a marriage. Women have been an inspiration for many writers for centuries. Nora's duties are restricted to playing with the children, doing little housework,. In truth, this is an act and proves her submissiveness to her husband. This proves that men cannot suppress women and they can challenge men in every field. Her sister declines involvement in the "crime" by citing,"We who are women should not contend with men; we who are weak are ruled by the stronger. The good goody obedience personality in women prevailed in the society. a very clear picture about the whole society of the times when these works were created. In modern day society, women are very well educated and have improved in many areas. All she did was what the male-dominant society expected. Women were treated just as sex objects, alive just to satisfy a man's needs and desires. I will use antigone and a doll's house as a prime example in explaining a women role. The male always dominated over the women and it was not viewed as "unfair. Many African nations still have nonsense traditional values that embrace the idea of oppression of females. Parents encourage outdated roles in the way little girls are dressed, the toys they play with . However, Nora is not a "perfect doll".
