Not without my daughter

The movie I chose to watch was "Not without my daughter" which shows the ways the Muslim religion treat women as inferior. The whole movie really starts when Mr. Mahmoody decides to take his wife Betty and their 4yr old daughter to visit family in Iran. It was only supposed to be a two week vacation and he promised them that they would be fine and loved and all that good stuff. They got there and Betty got to see that women were not treated fairly. To go out in the city they had to cover their bodies and faces which Betty was not accustomed to. But her husband made her wear a cloth which is called a chador. Her husband had sworn on the Koran that they would be safe and be back in one piece. Mr. Mahmoody changes all of a sudden to this whole different character and tell them they won't be leaving Teheran. He then takes his wife and daughters passport to make sure they wouldn't flee. Mahtob is sent to a school which is completely anti-American and every morning they recite "Death to America". Betty can't just pick up and leave with her daughter because once she married her husband this made them both citizens of Iran. Her husband tell her she is allowed to leave but not with their daughter. Betty manages to escape and find help with a group of men that strategize a way to get both Betty and Mahtob out of the country. First they make sure they know were she is at school and then they take her out and go through a series of truck rides and car rides, all disguised as Iranian women. At the end you get scared that she wouldn't make it out but sure enough she made it over that borderline.
Movies like this are what shows us that women in America are lucky to have all the freedom they have. We do have rules in this world but they are only to keep this world from turmoil. Women are capable of doing whatever men do here because we all have equal rights. Men can't beat their wives here and get away ...
