Oral health has been a key issue since even before humans were on earth. All animals that have ever had a mouth or teeth have been susceptible to the consequences of bad oral health. The knowledge for good oral hygiene needs to be more common knowledge; it now is more prevalent in the educated. People in the dentistry profession take on a challenge to educate people in good oral health practices and knowledge. Dentistry today is not only rewarding to the dentist, but also to the people who are is need of dental services. Dentists not only treat people for cleanings, extractions, fillings, dentures, and gum disease, but they also are trying to break through the barrier to instill the importance of good oral hygiene that would benefit all people. Dentists depend on their good judgment in each procedure to examine, treat, and educate the patient on further care.
