Holocaust
The Holocaust, what is the true depth of the word? As sad asit may seem, it affected the lives of millions because ofthe hate inside of one certain group of people, the Nazi's.Dehumanization is to deprive human qualities such asindividuality or compassion. Victims of the Holocaust wentthrough dehumanization simply to make the killing of otherspsychologically easy for the Nazi's. Many victims of the Holocaust suffered from variousexperiments which eventually led to the death. Some of theexperiments were things such as: sun lamp, internalirrigation, hot bath, warming by body heat,freezing/hypothermia etc. The internal irrigation system iswhen, "the frozen victims would have water heated to a nearblistering temperature forcefully irrigated into thestomach, bladder, and intestines." (Medical Experiments ofthe Holocaust and Nazi Medicine) Why would anybody performsuch horrible things on another human being? That is aquestion that many people still can't answer. It is muchmore complex than it may seem. The Nazi's wanted to make the
TheNazi's made it a point to degrade these people in every waypossible by taking away their rights and free will. The living conditions within camps played a major rolein the deterioration of the victims. My heart goes out for all the people that died duringthe Holocaust, and to all of the families that lost a loveone. By the late 1930's there were hundredsof camps scattered throughout Germany; and camps werequickly being established throughout much more of Europe. Killing somebody less than human was morejustifiable to the Nazi's. The experiment of the twins isgraphically described, "the next part of the examinationconsisted of tubes being forced through their noses and intotheir lungs. On the opposite the lack of food especially water was used cruelly for facilitating the destruction; hungry, thirsty, emaciated people do not resist. The sputum from the lungs was collected forexamination. Assoon as people began being sent away to various camps, theprocess of dehumanization started. (Kimel)People were treated as though they weren't human and didn'tdeserve to live on the earth. Although it isn't spoken about veryfreely, it happened with everybody that went through theHolocaust. The SS dealt with their victims like with commodities. They were then ventilated with a gas whichcaused them to cough so severely that they had to berestrained.
