Iraq is in the middle of a civil war. Recent events show that Iraq will not change unless the U.S. is there to support the Iraqis civilians. The United States should not pull its troops out of Iraq because; the Iraqis don't have the protection or the money to rebuild their community without our help. It is also our duty as a world power to help Iraq produce a working democracy. It is mandatory that the United States finishes what we've started.
             The Iraqis need the strength to uproot Saddam Hussein and replace good officials in office. Saddam Hussein was a terrible leader who led Iraq through two devastating wars. He also left Iraq with a huge 75 billion dollar debt. Hussein left Iraq in chaos. That is why the US must be there to help. There is not a better reason to help. If the U.S. leaves now we haven't solved anything. According to Susan Page, a writer from USA Today, "It is the first time since Vietnam that a majority of Americans has called a major deployment of U.S. forces a mistake. When the war on Iraq began last year, the public by three to one said sending troops wasn't a mistake. Just three weeks ago fifty-eight percent still held that view."
             If we pull our troops out now what will prevent future terrorists from attacking the U.S. homeland again? More or less, who will prevent terror threats in Iraq? The threats will not stop until the job is complete. President George W. Bush said, "The terrorist threats will not just go away. We have to fight back!" This job consists of removing the old powers and putting new ones in place. We must have no mercy when it comes to terrorism. We must destroy the terrorist movement! We must not leave Iraq in chaos. They are not strong enough to rebuild without us. Bush also claimed that "Saddam has control of nuclear weapons."
             Our troops must not allow anyone as desperate as Iraq to be in control of weapons of that magnitude. Iraq not only has nuclear weapons but biological weapons ...
