American dream

             The American dream can mean anything to anyone. It is difficult to say whether or not it truly exists today because people of the world have grown up believing that everyone is able to achieve the American dream. In Darnell and Ross' Uncle Sam, it discusses the problems faced in America dealing with the American dream and the struggle of what Uncle Sam actually portrays to society.
             I think of the American dream at an older state of life consisting of graduating from college, living in the big, yellow house with a white picket fence and a beautiful clean-cut, green lawn. Earning my degree enabling to take care of my son and daughter and make sure they live a happy life. I would have a loving husband to take care of my children and I. The American dream that I believe in, makes me think of being prosperous and not have any worries because I should live the perfect life.
             Many people from different countries come to America to have the chance to experience the American dream. For them, it is having the chance to live in a prosperous country and get a good education. This gives them the opportunity to experience life to the fullest, which is what your supposed to do. With a good education, your supposed to be able to survive the world we live in today.
             Obviously, the dream believed by the people is very rare especially with the times we live in. Everyday people are being killed, crime is on the streets, or poverty preventing people to chase their dream. In Uncle Sam, it discusses how people are living with these hardships all the time. Everyday it gets harder and harder to acknowledge this dream because it is priority to have a good standing job to be able to pay for the things needed. Many people are in college as we speak, but how do we know that college is going to better our lives? Many people get their undergraduate degree in some major, but there are many people furthering their educ
