Bush or Kerry?

When I first received this assignment, I was clueless as to what I would write about. I wanted to write about something that I was passionate about and something that directly affected my life. I thought about writing about things at college such as issues like suicide, adjusting to a new environment and making new friends. Then I thought about all of the things going on right now in our country and other countries that could be on the verge of a major change. Writing about the election, I thought, would be a good way to educate young people on just how important voting can be. So many people my age are over in Iraq right now rebuilding another country and standing up for our rights. Many of us do not even vote because we don't have the time to educate ourselves enough on the issue. We do not have the time to go read books on the candidates because they are studying already and trying to get some sort of degree. Yet there are many people our age right now fighting for our country and they do not even know why. They just know that they are standing up for their country and its principles, whatever they may be. Everyone should be educated on what this country is about and what exactly it stands for and make sure to vote for the can

This is a place were my opponent & I have strong disagreements. He thinks that it would be impossible to take away our whole national debt right away but it is a small step in the right direction and eventually there will not be any national debt. Surely this nation can come together to promote the value of life. Knowledge gained from bioterrorism research will improve public health. He has faith in going back to Clinton's tax code; which worked really well during the economic boom to the nineteen nineties. He said, "I support welfare reform that strengthens family and requires work. Bush has a plan to pay off the national debt over the next ten years and leave $1. ("John Kerry on War & Peace" 2) Kerry believes we should use our allies and that we shouldn't be in this war alone. To start with, I went to the website dedicated to George Bush's campaign. Kerry said, "The Bush administration has violated, indeed sometimes even waged war on, all of these foundations of American economic policy" ("John Kerry on Budget & Economy" 2). I knew that both Bush and Kerry had their own websites dedicated to show people what they were all about. John Kerry also has many ideas of his own concerning the budget of our country and our economy. Kerry believes in working together to fight this war, he believes in making our country's economy stronger, he believes in keeping us safe and becoming a better and stronger America.
