Success: A Healthy Mind? Money?

What is success? Success is the achievement of something desired. Throughout the history of mankind, man has always desired advances in his world. Many people try to be successful in life by trying to perk up their lives. They try to achieve something desirable which represents their need for success in life. Success in general can have a paradoxical effect on the life of people. It can enliven the lives of people while on the other hand it can cloud the judgment of some. People, on whom success has a negative impact, tend to have a sharp change in character and judgment. The concept of success provides people with an impetus to live, such as Bill Gates, while it hinders and impairs the judgment of some people like Gatsby. First, success can also promote influential characterization in people who use their successful lives in order to help others. Some people in society use their success in a positive way. They try to help the needy and try to educate

Gatsby epitomizes a lot of people in society, ranging from his newly acquired wealth to his personality. The character of Bill Gates implies that he wants to help others who are less fortunate. Gatsby not only symbolizes how success can affect the mind, but also how it changes the character of the person in question. The idea of success in Gate's life has had a positive impact. Gatsby's mind gets clouded with his successes in life that he believes that he can win Daisy back with the help of his money. As a result, Gates represents a very dignified and benevolent character. "(Biography of Bill Gates) The above quotation reflects upon the philanthropic ideals of Gates and how he works with his family to help others. Thus, the idea of success hindering the judgment of people can be aptly seen in Gatsby's character. His successes in life have neither corrupted his mind nor impaired his judgment. Some people take success and use it in a positive way that benefits them and society, while others' judgment gets impaired and they tend to use it in a negative way. He is able to realize the importance of his successes and take them to a greater level by using its results to help others. Thus, the inference can be drawn that Gates is a very strong and diligent character that hopes to promote happiness among the deprived. His actions directly portray his personality and how he uses his wealth to help the needy.
